Nepal offers many mountains to climb above 5500m. Every mountain needs special permit to climb. Starting from 5,500M to 6,654M are Categorized as trekking peaks in Nepal. 

They are often close to major peaks, with astounding views from their summits. Climbing them gives you the exhilaration of pitting yourself against Himalayan conditions and altitudes. It is essential to note that these are still considerable mountains, taller than almost anything in North America or Europe.Don’t be fooled by the name ‘trekking peak - most classic routes require a little scrambling over snow and ice so make sure you are familiar with the use of crampons and ice axes.

Above 6,654 m to 8,848m Mt. Everest (World’s highest peak) is categorized as Expeditions/Mountaineering Mountains in Nepal. So below 6654m are called Trekking peaks climbing in Nepal. Group “B” NMA peaks permit is USD 350 for Group of 1-4 persons, USD 350 plus additional USD 40 per person for Group of 5-8 persons and USD 510 plus additional USD 25 per person for Group of 9-12 persons. Similarly, Group “A” NMA peaks permit is USD 500 for group of 1-7 persons and USD 100 per person additional above 8-12 persons. The Maximum climbing group size is 12 persons in one group.
